Before School Program
The
YMCA offers a state licensed program that serves families in need of
before school care. The program begins at 7:00am and is available to
all elementary students in the Scotch Plains-Fanwood school district
and Hehnly and Valley Road Schools in Clark. This is a 10-month
program offered on a 5 day/week basis only.
Students in Scotch Plains and Fanwood must
be dropped off at the Union Catholic Annex and will be transported
to their designated elementary schools before school begins.
Members:
$185.00/month
Basic: $206.00/month
Students attending Hehnly and Valley Road need to
be dropped off at those schools.
Members: $157.00/month
Basic: $175.00/month

Full-Day Programs (2008-2009)
All
participants in the School Age Child Care programs are eligible to
attend any of the full-day programs (7:00am-6:00pm) throughout the
school year, available on most school vacation days.
Pre-registration is required, with an additional fee due at the time
of registration.
Members: $45.00/child Basic: $50.00/child
Snow
Days
When schools
are closed for inclement weather, a full-day program will be offered
at the YMCA for participants in the School Age Child Care programs. Pre-registration is
requested, with an additional fee due at the time of registration.

The EDGE (Energetic, Dynamic,
Growing Environment) serves the needs of our Middle School
student at Terrill and Park Middle
Schools in Scotch Plains.

The state-licensed
YMCA School Age Child Care program site is located at all elementary and middle schools in Scotch
Plains-Fanwood, as well as the Clark elementary schools, from school dismissal until 6:00pm. This is a 10-month
program available on a 5-, 4-, or 3- day/week basis.
Our
program follows the YMCA of the USA School Age Child Care Curriculum Framework,
based on planning principles that are consistent with the YMCA mission. The nine
core content areas are: Arts & Humanities; Character Development; Health,
Wellness & Fitness; Homework Support; Literacy; Science & Technology;
Service Learning; Social Competence; and Conflict Resolution.
