Welcome To The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA

Welcome To The Y

Today’s YMCAs serve thousands of U.S. communities, uniting 21 million children and adults of all ages, races, faiths, backgrounds, abilities and income levels. Our reach and impact can be seen in the millions of lives we touch every year. Across the nation, YMCAs are committed to helping:

  • Children and youth deepen positive values, their commitment to service and their motivation to learn
  • Families build stronger bonds, spend time together and become more engaged with their communities
  • Individuals strengthen their spiritual, mental and physical well-being
At every stage of life, YMCAs are there to help children, families and individuals reach their full potential.

YMCA Mission

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is dedicated to improving the quality of life of the individuals, families and communities we serve, through programs and services that build wholeness of spirit, mind & body. The YMCA is a not-for-profit organization founded on Christian principles, serving people of all ages, races, faiths, cultures and socio-economic conditions.

LIVING OUR CAUSE...

is the YMCA’s bold approach to directly address the unhealthy behaviors that have led to an epidemic of obesity and related chronic disease in the United States. The mission compels all YMCAs to transform the way they work to support all kids, adults, families, and communities in their pursuit of well-being in spirit, mind, and body. The following special offerings will help you take the first (or next) step toward better health.

7th Grade Initiative

All 7th graders in our service area are entitled to a free membership during their 7th grade year at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. Parents must accompany students to take out the membership. A list of what is available with the membership is at our member service desk.
